Scrapbooking Obsession
Yep thats right - I'm completely obsessed with this crazy hobby! I spend so many hours a day on scrapbooking websites trying to learn something new, get the latest technique and just get some inspiration....which got me to thinking - what am I inspired by.....so here goes the list....
1. Fellow Scrappers - definately a key for me - just looking through other peoples galleries helps to get me excited about doing something creative! I found that I am completely in love with Carrie Colbert's style! She scraps the way I do (or at least I wish I did) and I just love her stuff! She works for Scrapbooks Etc. and is on the Autumn Leaves design team and is a Two Peas girl - and I'm sure theres more too! I visit her blog daily if I can and love to hear what she is working on or what is inspiring her.
Here are some of Carrie's Layouts from the Two Peas site

2. Scrapbooking Magazines - I LOVE to look through the scrapbooking magazines {Creating Keepsakes, Canadian Scrapbooker, Making Memories, and Scrapbooks Etc.} - to get ideas, read the articles and even look at the ads to see what are the latest products out on the market. It amazes me how much new stuff continues to come out from all these amazing companies [my favs being, at the moment, Wild Asparagus, Chatterbox and SEI] I have found that I love to try something new - and yet keep my own style - which I'm still trying to figure out what that is :)>
3. My Best Girl Friend - yep thats right April I find I get tons of inspiration just by talking to you about scrapbooking - which we tend to do a lot! I love to be able to talk crazy scrapbookin' talk with someone who completely understands! I'm so glad I was able to get her hocked on this hobby!
4. Scrapbook websites - I know I spend way to much time surfing on all of these sites - but I love it. Captured Moments, Two Peas, Scrapjazz and on and on the list goes. Lately I have been doing a lot of blog reading too. Some amazing scrapbookers out there - including Ali Edwards, Carrie Colbert (mentioned above), Heidi Swapp, and the list goes on.
5. Family & Friends - yep they inspire me - even when they drive me nuts ;) I love to take pictures at family events and friends get togethers and then be able to either do a layout of them or create something for them as a gift. A lot of the projects/albums I have done have been gifts for members of my family or friends. Currently I'm working on a surprise gift for my grandmother and it has been a lot of fun - makes you try new things/experiement - depending on the pictures, etc.
6. Colour - I know I'm weird - but colour does inspire me - when I see a colour combination or patterns together it makes me want to go do a layout using the exact combinations. I love bright colours in my scrapbooking - which I'm sure for those that know me that I don't wear a lot of colour and I don't live in a lot of colour - but my pages can be as colourful as possible.
7. Scrapbook products - its fun to shop in the LSS and see all the amazing NEW stuff that continues to come in - seeing something NEW - bright and shiny makes me want to go home and use it in a layout too (this can also be a negative thing to consider I am on a budget :)
Thats all I can think of right now, but I'm sure theres lots more. Just the other day we were walking along the water - which was crazy busy with families with kids and couples - and just seeing the kids reactions made me wish I had my camera to capture it - weird I know since they're not my kids and I don't have any of my own but I could see the layout for these pictures - thats when you know your obsessed!

Hooray! I like being a reason! And you know you're totally my inspiration and reason for getting into this! I love looking over your projects/LO's and finding all the details and elements! The card you sent me sits out on my mantle in my room still, and of course I have my letter and album at work that you made me!
I realized I was obsessed when I was in Derek's washroom, and realized I liked the layout of the colours in his shower curtain, and was planning a layout based on those colours and pattern!!!
Just today, Aaron was explaining computer components to me by likening them to scrapbooking - ie, you start with the mother board, which is your card stock, and add different elements! LOL!
Hope you're having a great day!
