Beth Moore's Bible Study

So lately with everything going on I realized I have been neglecting my bible study time - I try sooooo hard to do my daily devo's and stuff, but for me I need a time for bible study too - and with things being so crazy right now in my life it would be super easy to push that aside. So instead I have picked up an old bible study I had started back when Fred and I were first married.

I tend to be a person who loves to start things - like bible studies - and not finish them. I love to go into a Christian book store and find the coolest bible study and buy it - and it tends to sit on my desk rather than me actually opening it up and doing it. I think when I am in a group study or have that accountability with someone else I can finish it - for example Sandie and I did 1 Peter, and I was in a ladies bible study in the evenings and finished another one of Beth Moore's studies. But anyways this one has about 3 weeks of homework finished in it - and its such an awesome study. My mission is to ----- yes ----- finish it!
My other goal is to not buy any more study books until I finish all the ones I have (I think there is - gulp - 4 still to do)

So anyways back to this bible study - its main focus is on the Old Testement - which I don't know that much about really - and the OT Tabernacle. I really enjoy Beth Moore (author) she is an amazing woman who has such a passion with her teaching. I have actually seen her speaking - in Hamilton at the Downpour Conference - and she was amazing. She is on TV every now and then on 100 Huntley Street and with this study and others she provides video tapes to go along with each week. The church originally did this study and purchased the tapes so I need to borrow those again - especially since we will be leaving soon. If you are interested in learning more about Beth and her studies you can go to Lifeway.com

I think I am going to use this blog as my accountabiltiy - I will post how I am doing with it and where I am. Sometimes when you are doing a study you tend to be more focused on completing then learning something from it - so I'll also be sharing what I have learned. Bare with me :)

At the moment I am going through the previous weeks I had already finished to remind myself what I have already learned - its quite amazing actually.

Day 2 of Week 1 talks about how we often ask "Who am I?" and "Why am I here?" and love the scripture verses it has to go along with it

"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things and for thy pleasure they are and were created" Rev. 4:11

"Even everyone that is called by name: for I have created him for my glory. I have formed him; yea, I have made him" Isa 43:7

And this is what Beth said next:
"So who are you and why are you here? You are God's chief creating, and you are here for His pleasure and His glory. God do not create us so that He could have the front-row seat at an ongoing saga of our follies and failures. He created us because He delights in us!
